Timber & Sawmill Kiln Drying Fan Blades
Replacement reversible axial fan blades for hardwood and softwood kiln drying chambers.
Timber kiln drying chambers use reversible high-temperature axial fans to force hot air through stacks of freshly sawn boards for anything from 48 hours (softwood) to several weeks (dense hardwoods). The fans typically run between 800 mm and 1800 mm diameter and need to survive continuous operation at kiln temperatures up to 90°C. Cast aluminium blades are the standard for the hot-side position because glass-filled nylon is temperature-limited to around 80°C. South Africa's commercial timber industry — Sappi Ngodwana, Mondi Richards Bay, York Timbers, PG Bison, Merensky, and the smaller Mpumalanga and KZN sawmills — runs hundreds of kiln chambers collectively, and most are built with replaceable-blade hubs supplied by European OEMs (Muhlbock, Nardi, Brunner-Hildebrand, Valutec). When a blade cracks, the fan goes out of balance and the whole chamber must be shut down until the blade is replaced — every hour of downtime holds up a week's timber batch. Multi-Wing cast aluminium Z-series blades are a direct mechanical replacement when the diameter, hub bore, PCD, and blade count match your existing fan. We stock the common sizes and ship blade-only kits — far cheaper and faster than ordering a complete new fan assembly from the OEM. WhatsApp or email us a photo of your hub (or the part number stamped on the blade) and we will confirm fitment before you order.
